Outstanding.
Except, you know, they could do that during development rather than making us gamers pay to be beta testers. o_O
We're talking about a $60 console game, not a little early access punt.
Beyond obvious really. If Acti had put any effort into it, they'd have advertised it ahead of time.
No. Review updates send the message that publishers can release games in any state they want. Not singling out TW3 here, but on principle, no.
Articles describing and praising the new updates with links in the review? Sure, but not new reviews.
Free to Play as a term needs to be retired. There are various varieties of it.
Some games are free. Some games are trial and unlock. Others are freemium, some games are essentially free with optional extras, some games are literally just a GUI with no gameplay and a cash store.
The fact is that decent games like Planetside 2, TF2 etc are being lumped in with the filth.
"More Mighty Wings than a Cheap Trick"
Oh there's some niche Top Gun humour. Most people go straight for the Loggins.
It's a surprisingly varied and quality exclusive output for the slower part of the year. Loads of multiplats aren't on here either!
Also, SMITE is amazing.
Fingers crossed for this one. New engine, new handling, should be the racer the sport deserves after last year's godawful attempt.
Nope. At the very most, you'll have to, you know, compromise a little.
AKA "In which publishers say absolutely nothing of note."
Loving the art style, but agreed, it's a bit much for an impulse multiplayer purchase right now. Will spend a lot of time sitting on the hard drive between local MP sessions.
Could be Games With Gold material eventually.
EDIT: oops, that disagree vote was mine. Hit the wrong button!
It's technically true ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ), but unlike Rare, Naughty Dog had the time and support to mature and perfect their craft. The Rare that exists today is still supported with new hires and salaries, but lacks the backbone and creative freedom they once had.
Ah good. That makes sense, couldn't get my head around it otherwise.
Thanks Lucreto, bubs.
They've got plenty to show and more to the point, Gamescom is also about big games that are recently/already out as well as community events, giveaways, promos etc. Gives the fanbase a place to meet and rally.
Not sure why you're getting disagrees. Fair enough that they're not holding a press conference, but they should at least hit the show floor and let people get hands on with Until Dawn etc.
Wait, they're not even turning up on the public floor? That's... very silly. Gamescom is the biggest games expo in the world and open to the public, even Ninty sees the value in bringing some games along.
But then again, all us Europeans own a PS4 anyway.
Erm... you could make that point about home consoles. Beyond Bloodborne, the PS4 has ports this year. So does the Xbox One.
I think that's the point and you hit the nail on the head. I'm not a fan but his videos clearly resonates resonates with a lot of people, it's their clicks and views that get him money. The market has spoken and people love what he does.
Again, I don't see the appeal, but I also think a lot of the bile he gets comes down to jealousy in terms of how he got in on YT early and found his niche.
It really is. Wish Sony had properly advertised/supported it, because it's a lovely thing. Tough and gorgeous.
Well said. Make it worthwhile and we'll play it.
People loved COD 4: MW's exceptional campaign, critics and gamers alike. Now the campaigns are hilariously poor and it's small wonder most skip them entirely.
